As i was having problems uploading my pictures to my blog, i created a flickr account. I have also wanted people to view my wok and not have to go through every page so i also added a flickr strip to make this easier.

The kids activity pack

For the last couple of days i have had the opportunity to be able to help Georgina with here activity morning/afternoons wth the children from different school. We had so any activities going on it was so fun being able to watch the childrens face with all the different people as they learnt something new.

Today i was asked to take all of the photos for the school. it was so funny getting the children to pull silly faces as we took pictures of them with there hates that they had made.

Vintage

There was a few moments that i felt that we wasn't going to have a show as we was so behind with setting up and actually displaying the work. The day before the show was due to be open was a nightmare. We had no work on boards there was still things all over the room it just seemed near impossible. So me and a few others volunteered to come in on Saturday morning to help finish things off and and the finishing touches. after all are hard work we pulled it off.

Friday the 17th June we had are private viewing of are end of year show 'Vintage'. I have never felt so nervous and excited at one time. After all the time, increased stress levels and effort that have gone in to all the preparation of the show has been amazing. we had so many people come to see the show, whether it was parents, brothers and sisters, partners or just old school teachers. it was amazing! Just watching people s expressions and reactions as they was looking at all of the different work from us all.

I really enjoyed this experience and its something that i am proud to have been apart of. I'm also extremely grateful o all my tutors for all the help and advice they have given me over the last 2 years. the last 2 years have gone so quickly i really don't know where it has gone. I have learnt so much and met some amazing people. Thank you!

Progression

After many months of hard work preparation and interviews. I have finally decided that ii i am going to the University of Greenwich. here i am going to study Graphic design and advertising for 2 years. I'm looking forward to developing my knowledge even more and learning more interesting things. I really feel this step is going to be the best one for me as i feel i don't know everything there is to know about this industry.

As a Graphic design i want to be able to push myself to the best of my ability. After these 2 years i intend on completing my BA hons also. From here i would really like to proceed on to a career within the industry, but i would also like to maybe do an apprenticeship just so that i have the experience of the industry before going in to it all first.

FMP final

Here are some of the images i took of my final FMP Alpro Soya Packaging. I am really happy with the way this has turned out. I think with the new logo and style it works very well. It also works well on the packaging to.

Well after 9 weeks of hard work, i have had my Final Major Project of which i redesigned the Alpro Soya logo. I have received my marks back. i was slightly disappointed as i didn't do as good as i thought i would have. so at the moment i am working towards improving my grades and getting it to the standard i wanted it to.

Keep Calm..

I was looking on the internet for a 'Keep Calm' poster that i could save to my memory stick for a member of my family when i come across these. I really think they are great.

Up coming events.

Well om the 26th of June i have entered the Race of life. i am really looking forward to the challenge of this and being able to achieve something for a good cause. One of the reasons i am running is because my great auntie has recently been re diagnosed with bowel cancer, i am also running for a close friend of the family to who is now in remission for lung cancer.

FMP

Well fmp is finally coming to an end. it has been hard work but i have enjoyed every minute of it. at the moment i am just trying to finalise everything and make sure it is all complete to be marked. Will post finals soon.

Final Major Project (FMP)

For my final major project i am looking at re-branding the logo for Alpro Soya. As of the moment i am just doing large amounts of  research. i have emailed Alpro and other companies that offer products that are similar to them. i have heard back from a few and am still awaiting a reply from Alpro.

University Interview.

Recently i had my interview for The University of Greenwich. It is a course that is provided for us at the college which is a HND but is equivalent to me getting my degree. I felt that the interview was really laid back it really wasn't what i thought it was going to be like. I took my portfolio and left it there for a while and then got called in for a brief interview with the tutors on the course.  i really liked the tutors they seem really nice and kind. they offered me a place on the course then and there.

I'm so excited!!

Typograpy

A project i have recently had to do is a typographical based project. we had to create a poster for a book of type. the book i choose was Hand Job: A catalog of type.

Here is my final outcome. I am really proud to have achieved this and such a good final piece.

I have been working on my website today. i have been playing around with the font and logo that i really want to use. Here is what i have come up with so far.

Web designs

I have been looking for a while for some ideas for my unit 10 website that i have to build. i have final found a layout i really like. I think i would be able to work this and design it well.

Quentin Blake

I created some pieces in the style of Quentin Blake. i used the same technique as he did. I took my mountain scene and character. I drew them using a quill and ink, once this was dry i used a coloured the pieces with a water colour wash.

here are the outcomes that i have achieved. I am really happy with the way it came out i am really thinking about creating my final outcomes in this style.

Narrative Image Task

we was given a task to select a newspaper article and to create a newspaper style cartoon strip:

I read the article and had i great idea for a comic strip that i could produce. i hand drew some images and then had a crit with 2 other members of my class. They really liked my design so i drew it on a larger scale and scanned it in. hear is the final outcome. tell me what you think.

Latest Project

At the moment we are undergoing are narrative project. For this project we had to choose song lyrics, a poem or a story that we would be able to add 3 narrative images of are own to 3 pieces of selected text. I am really enjoying this as i have chosen a story i loved when i was little. the story i have chosen is called possum creek the big great flood. i'll keep you posted on how its going.
